Linkin Park Lends ‘Burn It Down,’ ‘Breaking the Habit’ and More to ‘Rock Band 3’
New Linkin Park songs added to the ‘Rock Band 3’ video game
Linkin Park are currently out on the Honda Civic Tour along with fellow alternative rockers Incubus, but while the guys trek across the U.S., fans at home can pick up their music via one of the biggest video game franchises. Harmonix, the group behind the “Rock Band” video game brand, has added new playable tracks from Linkin Park for “Rock Band 3.”
The four-song “Linkin Park Pack 02” downloadable pack offers a mix of classics and new songs, including “Breaking the Habit,” off 2003’s “Meteora,” “Shadow of the Day” off 2007’s “Minutes to Midnight,” “New Divide” featured on the soundtrack for the 2009 movie “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen” and — yes — “Burn It Down,” off the band’s 2012 album, “Living Things.”
“Linkin Park Pack 02” is offered for Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Nintendo Wii. For more information, visit the Rock Band website.
In other band news, multi-instrumentalist Mike Shinoda recently chatted with the Southtown Sun about the band’s current album, “Living Things.” Shinoda said the album is a conglomeration of Linkin Park’s decade-long history as a band and that the group “looked back and realized we were comfortable with the whole journey maybe for the first time ever… It’s frankly the most energetic thing we put together in the last few years.”
