Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan Opens Chicago Tea House

Smashing Pumpkins frontman has a new venue in a Chicago Chinese tea house

Smashing Pumpkins main man Billy Corgan already has his hand in WWE wrestling, and now, Corgan is getting into the tea business. Corgan will launch his very own 1930s Chinese tea house, Madame ZuZu’s, in Chicago today (Sept. 13). As for what to expect from the tea house, patrons will be offered a rotating menu of teas from around the world, in addition to light vegan treats.

“I’m a tea guy and living in Highland Park since 2003, I’ve always wanted to open a salon like this for everyone to enjoy,” Corgan said in an official statement. “This is a place with no age boundaries. We hope to attract everyone from young students to seniors. With a blend of music, photo galleries, art displays and speakers, I think Madame ZuZu’s offers something for everyone.”

Madame ZuZu’s will be located at 582 Roger Williams Avenue in Chicago’s posh Highland Park neighborhood, and the tea house will open for business at 8 a.m. CT. During the shop’s grand opening, Corgan will be on hand to play some acoustic sessions throughout the day, as well as offering free tea. The acoustic performances begin at 11 a.m. CT.
