Courtney Love Developing Broadway Show About Late Nirvana Frontman Kurt Cobain?
Late Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain might get his own musical, according to the New York Daily News
Green Day has their own musical in Broadway’s “American Idiot,” so why not Nirvana, right? According Sam Lutfi, alleged former manager of Britney Spears, such a musical might be in the works. Lutfi maintains he’s working on a new project with Hole frontwoman Courtney Love surrounding her late husband, Nirvana singer and founder Kurt Cobain, which might make it all the way to Broadway.
The New York Daily News is stating that Lutfi dropped the news while he was testifying in a Los Angeles courtroom during a lawsuit against Spears and her parents for a supposed breach of contract, libel and millions of dollars in overdue management charges. “[Courtney Love and I] are currently working on a possible motion picture or Broadway musical based on the Nirvana catalog, based on her life and Kurt Cobain’s,” Lutfi said about a musical brewing, according to the article.
As for Love’s camp, the singer’s management has offered no comment on the supposed project with Lutfi. Even so, a source tells the New York Daily News that Love, indeed, has been “talking about doing a movie or play about her life with Kurt [Cobain] for a long time. So far, nothing has materialized from it.”
