Jack White, Alabama Shakes, Edward Sharpe Set for ‘Austin City Limits’
‘Austin City Limits’ will feature performances by Jack White, Alabama Shakes and Edward Sharpe in 2013
PBS’ “Austin City Limits” is long known for bringing in a variety of talented and in-demand performers, and now, the series has lined up a notable selection of bands and artists to perform on the second part of its 38th season. Alternative music fans will be happy to hear that former White Stripes frontman Jack White will kick things off on Jan. 5, as well as Edward Sharpe on and the Magnetic Zeros on Feb. 9 and Feb. Alabama Shakes (along with Gary Clark Jr.) on Feb. 16.
“‘Austin City Limits’ takes pride in our eclectic mix of musical styles and we truly have something for everyone’s taste in the second half of our new season, from rock and punk to country, pop, jazz, blues and Latin!” ‘Austin City Limits’ executive producer Terry Lickona said in an official statement. “Each artist has a unique and original style or sound, which is always our goal.”
Other performers lined up for the season include Rodrigo y Gabriela, Norah Jones, Kat Edmonson, Bob Mould, Delta Spirit, Tim McGraw and Esperanza Spalding.
