Radiohead Frontman’s Atoms for Peace Announce ‘Amok’ Release Date

Atoms for Peace are set to release their debut full-length, ‘Amok,’ in February of 2013

Atoms for Peace, the high-profile side project featuring Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke and Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea, have dropped the news that their debut full-length, “Amok,” will drop on Feb. 26 in CD, digital download and vinyl formats. The release is set to feature nine tracks.

Yorke says he loves the fact Atoms for Peace is a freewheeling musical endeavor of sorts, and even he doesn’t know exactly what to expect from the road leading up to the album’s release. “It’s a while to wait I know so I’m sure some other things will occur before then,” Yorke stated in an official release. “I’m still reeling from being on tour for much of the year but we are planning to get together and play etc next year! We’re figuring all that out right now. Atoms is a ongoing and open ended project, where it leads I know not for certain…which is what is nice about it.” In other words, the band could very well tour next year!

York and company have also released the official artwork for “Amok,” which can be viewed above. Designed by Stanley Donwood, the album art features an artsy black-and-white drawing of blazing meteors. For more information, visit Atoms for Peace’s official website.
