Grunge rockers Alice in Chains are set to unchain a new song, ‘Hollow’

Alice in Chains have wrapped up recording sessions for their latest concoction of down-and-dirty grunge, and now, the guys are ready to unchain a new song to the masses. In a post on the band’s official Facebook page, the guys of Alice in Chains have announced they’ll release a brand new track, “Hollow,” on Dec. 18.

“Presumably, you’re now following @aliceinchains on Instagram, so the first step is done,” the post reads. “Every day for the next 10 days, a new lyrical phrase from our brand new song “Hollow” will be posted at @aliceinchains on Instagram. We want you to create an image inspired by or featuring a single word or phrase from those lyrics. Next, share those photos on Instagram or Twitter tagging #HOLLOWAIC. On 12/18, visit www.aliceinchains.com/hollow to see your photos and other fan photos from around the world, then hear and become, ‘Hollow.’”

Alice in Chains’ upcoming albums is expected to arrive in 2013. The release will be the follow-up to Alice in Chains’ 2009 album, “Black Gives Way to Blue.” The process would have gone faster, but recording was put on hold in 2011 due to Cantrell having shoulder surgery. The new album features production by Nick Raskulinecz, who produced the band’s last album and has worked with Foo Fighters, Evanescence and Deftones.
