New Pearl Jam Album ‘Halfway There,’ Says Eddie Vedder
Pearl Jam’s upcoming album is about half finished, according to frontman Eddie Vedder
Pearl Jam have already started the writing process for the follow-up to 2009’s “Backspacer,” and although the guys have been taking their sweet time with the new release, they’ve certainly made progress.
“[We’re] maybe halfway there,” frontman Eddie Vedder told Rolling Stone when asked about the upcoming album. “We’re taking our time. At some point we’ll join forces again for sure…we’ll be ready to go when we’re ready to go.”
Vedder says that the fact Pearl Jam have been together for over 20 years has only improved their musical chemistry. In fact, the upcoming album will showcase that newfound chemistry. “We really work together as a unit these days,” Vedder said. “It’s really the compilation of all the parts. We’ve figured out after all these years that if everybody just puts their stamp on it then it sounds how we want it to.”
Pearl Jam bass player Jeff Ament previously stated that the band plan to get back into the studio to finishing up the upcoming release something in March.
