The Postal Service to Release ‘Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition’ This Spring
Ben Gibbard’s side project the Postal Service will reunite at Coachella 2013
Remember the Postal Service, the band put together by Death Cab for Cutie frontman Ben Gibbard and electronic musician Jimmy Tamborello? Well, the guys are back in business, as Gibbard and Tamborello have dropped the news that they’ll be unleashing a special edition of their only studio release, 2003’s “Give Up,” on April 9.
The release, called “Give Up Deluxe 10th Anniversary Edition,” will feature two CDs that offer the original set, as well as new songs “Turn Around” and “A Tattered Line of String,” plus some B-sides, remixes and rarities. The collection also includes cover versions “We Will Become Silhouettes,” performed by the Shins, and “Such Great Heights,” performed by Iron and Wine.
In other news, Billboard is reporting that the Postal Service have been tapped to reunite to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their first and final studio album, 2003’s “Give Up,” at the 2013 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival. The magazine reports that the two gents are booked to play not only Coachella, but also a number of other shows that are “in the works.”
