The Gaslight Anthem Post Video Paying Homage to Vinyl
Alternative rockers the Gaslight Anthem love vinyl and they’ve released a new movie to prove it
Vinyl is making a comeback, and alternative rockers the Gaslight Anthem are all about the nostalgic format. The band talks all about the significance of vinyl records in a fresh 15-minute clip, titled “Every Word Handwritten.” The short film is up at Rolling Stone’s official website, and it documents the life of a vinyl album and why it brings such happiness to all who hear it.
Drummer Benny Horowitz, who co-wrote and produced the short film, says that he wanted to pay tribute to vinyl albums because they played an important part in his musical life growing up. “We were in London and I had this idea about the story of the record, things that would happen to it,” Horowitz told Rolling Stone during a recent interview. “I couldn’t imagine vinyl not being in my life. I couldn’t imagine walking into my living room and not seeing my records.”
In other Gaslight Anthem news, the band is currently on a North American tour in support of the group’s new album, “Handwritten.” For a full list of tour dates and for more information about the band, head to the Gaslight Anthem’s official website.
