Lamb of God Frontman Randy Blythe Acquitted of Manslaughter
Lamb of God’s Randy Blythe is free of manslaughter charges
Lamb of God frontman Randy Blythe can breathe easier, as the singer yesterday (March 5) was acquitted on a manslaughter charge related to an event that happened during the metal group’s 2010 show at Club Abaton in Prague. Blythe was charged with being forceful with a fan called Daniel Nosek after he jumped onto the stage during the concert. Czech Republic authorities took to the courts to state that the episode caused injuries that eventually resulted in Nosek’s death 14 days after the show.
“I have been found not guilty & acquitted of all charges against me,” the frontman wrote on the band’s official Facebook page. “I am a free man. Please remember the family of Daniel Nosek in your thoughts & prayers in this difficult time. I only wish for them peace. Thank you for your support.”
As for whose fault it was for the unfortunate incident, Rolling Stone reports that a board of Czech judges came to the verdict that concert promoters “were largely to blame” for Nosek’s passing, stating that the club’s “lax security” was a big factor in the incident, in that the security let fans jump onto the stage during the concert. A big deciding factor was that prosecutors couldn’t scrape up any video evidence of Blythe pushing Nosek and witnesses’ memories of the event weren’t clear.
