Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Depeche Mode Join Global Citizen Ticket Initiative

Fans can score concert tickets with the Global Citizen Ticket Initiative

Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam and Depeche Mode are part of a long list of artists taking part in a new program that will offer some special incentives to fans who become social activists. The groups are giving away free concert tickets to peeps who sign up for the Global Citizen Tickets Initiative, a program with the goal of creating awareness revolving around issues related to extreme poverty.

“Pearl Jam is very grateful to be part of such an innovative and generous group of artists and music business leaders participating in this project,” guitarist Stone Gossard said in an official statement. “It reflects the DNA of our band and business, and expands it to respond to some of the greatest inequities and challenges facing humanity.”

The initiative lets fans earn points for taking a range of social actions, such as raising money for a certain charity. In turn, the fans are entered into a lottery for free tickets.

Other bands participating in the Global Citizen Tickets Initiative, which is lead by Pearl Jam manager Kelly Curtis, include Soundgarden, Kings of Leon, Alabama Shakes, Black Sabbath, My Morning Jacket, Fleet Foxes, No Doubt and Grizzly Bear.

Festivals such as the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, Coachella, Outside Lands, Sasquatch! Music Festival and the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience are also donating tickets to the program. For more information, head to Global Citizen’s official website.
