Ex-My Chemical Romance Guitarist Frank Iero Posts New Solo Track, ‘Joyriding’
Frank Iero, formerly of My Chemical Romance, has posted a new tune to his Soundcloud page, ‘Joyriding’
Former My Chemical Romance guitarist is dabbling in the world of solo releases. The six-stringer announced via Twitter this week that he has recorded a new solo tune, “Joyriding.”
Iero sent out a link a link to the track, which is posted on his personal Soundcloud page. He also sent out a link to his blog where he gives details on where he got the idea to try putting together a solo song. As it turns out, Iero recorded the song after doing an interview with a journalista from the U.K.’s Kerrang!
“[The journalist] and I had talked about inspiration and creativity, and I told him I go through periods of making things and then a week later hating everything I’ve made and destroying it all,” he stated in his blog. “I told him I’d like to try and experiment with creating something and releasing it before I have a chance to hate myself for making it. So when I wrote this song it almost seemed like a dare.”
No word yet on whether Iero will official release the song or put together a full-length solo album. For more on Iero, head to his blog.
