Arcade Fire, Linkin Park Score Big Billboard 200 Debuts
Arcade Fire and Linkin Park both landed inside the Billboard 200’s top 10 this week
Arcade Fire have done it again. The California-based alternative rockers have picked up their second No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart with their fourth studio album, “Reflektor.”
The release took the No. 1 spot on the chart pushing over 140,000 copies, according to numbers from Nielsen SoundScan. Arcade Fire also scored a No.1 album with their 2010 release, “The Suburbs,” which sold 156,000 copies in its debut week.
Linkin Park, also enjoyed a big showing this week. The band’s “RECHARGED” album, which offers fresh interpretations of songs off 2012’s “Living Things,” entered the Billboard 200 chart at No. 10, selling roughly 33,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. That makes “RECHARGED” Linkin Park’s eighth album to debut inside the Billboard 200’s top 10. The band’s last full-length, “Living Things,” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart, selling 223,000 copies in the U.S. its debut week out.
Linkin Park are currently working on their follow-up to “Living Things,” which is expected to arrive sometime in 2014. Meanwhile, singer Chester Bennington has joined Stone Temple Pilots as their new frontman, and the group is now going by the moniker Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington.
