Bastille get historical in their new video for ‘Bad Blood’ and use classic equipment from Frank Sinatra and Nat King Cole

Electro-pop rockers Bastille make use of some historical equipment in the band’s new music video for “Oblivion,” which appears on their latest album, “Bad Blood.” In the video, which is currently available to view via Rolling Stone, the band is seen rocking out to “Bad Blood” at the Capitol Records building in Los Angeles.

At the performance, singer Dan Smith is spotting playing Nat King Cole’s classic old piano and using a Frank Sinatra microphone. Smith says doing the video was an exciting experience, especially being accompanied by a string section.

“Because we made our album in our friend’s tiny little studio in London we haven’t had much exposure to recording studios, so it was amazing to even get to spend time at Capitol Studios,” Smith told Rolling Stone. “I’m completely obsessed with strings in music, from the Beatles’ arrangements through to all the film scores that I love, so to be able to play live with such an awesome strings section was unforgettable for us.”

Bastille are currently touring overseas and will be back in the U.S. on Dec. 2 to play a show at Rockwell at the Complex in Salt Lake City. From there, the band has a handful of North American tour dates through next January. To view a full list of Bastille’s upcoming tour dates, head to the band’s official website.
