Radiohead fans will have to wait a while to hear new tunes, according to bass player Colin Greenwood

Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke kept busy last year with his side project, Atoms for Peace, as the group released its debut full-length, “Amok.” Now that Atoms for Peace is taking a bit of a break, many fans have been crossing their fingers for new Radiohead tunes, but according to bass player Colin Greenwood, that’s not at the forefront of the band’s mind. Greenwood says the guys have been enjoying their break and don’t have any immediate plans to start writing their follow-up to 2011’s “King of Limbs.”

“I wish I could say we were going to start work and put something out then spend twelve months on the road touring but we’re just enjoying being at home right now,” Greenwood told Drowned in Sound regarding new music. “We had the best time when spent the last two years touring The King of Limbs. We definitely want to do it all again but we’ve just got to give it some time for the dust to settle.”

Radiohead did record a few tracks back in 2012 at Jack White’s Third Man Records studio in Nashville, but Greenwood says those aren’t near ready for release. “I think we’d have to revisit them and finish things,” he explained. “I think generally we work best when we’re all together for a long period of time. But then I say something like that and think back to when we recorded ‘Lucky’ in under a day at some studio in South London, so I don’t know.”
