Seether Wrapping Up Recording Sessions for New Album

Seether have almost finished recording their follow-up to ‘Holding onto Strings Better Left to Fray’

Seether have been hard at work on their follow-up to 2011’s “Holding onto Strings Better Left to Fray,” and they’re almost finished with the new tunes. According to vocalist Shaun Morgan, the band is wrapping up recording sessions for the new album, and he says their focus is putting the best songs possible on the release.

“We’re recording 12 [songs] but I think we’re gonna do an album of 10 tracks this time,” he told Billboard. “We wanted to consolidate it down and make sure it was 10 really strong songs from start to finish and there’s nothing on the album that feels like filler. We’re putting a lot of work into this and a lot of thought into everything.”

Morgan said to expect the album to come out in either late spring or early summer.

In other news, Seether are bringing back their Rise Above Fest for a second year. The show will take place May 10 at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion in Bangor, Maine, and feature a headlining performance from Seether, as well as performances from Motorhead, Avenged Sevenfold, Black Stone Cherry, Trivium and Skindred.

Tickets for the Rise Above Fest will go on sale Friday. Proceeds will benefit the Suicide Awareness Voices of Education organization, whose purpose is to help prevent suicide through public awareness and education.
