Metallica, Halestorm, Adrenaline Mob and More to Appear on Ronnie James Dio Tribute CD
‘This Is Your Life’ will feature hard rock and metal bands covering the late Ronnie James Dio
A collection of key hard rock and metal players are banding together to release a special tribute album in honor of the late singer Ronnie James Dio of Dio, Rainbow and Black Sabbath, who passed away 2010 from stomach cancer. The album, called “This Is Your Life,” is due out on April 1 via CD and digital download and will feature new renditions of songs Ronnie recorded over the years.
Among the artists set to appear on the album are Metallica, Motorhead, Scorpions, Judas Priest frontman Rob Halford, Anthrax, Tenacious D and ex-members of Dio, Rainbow and Black Sabbath. A few tracks include covers of “The Temple of the King” by the Scorpions; “Starstruck” by Motörhead and “Ronnie Rising Medley” by Metallica.
Funds raised by the sale of “This Is Your Life” will go towards the Ronnie James Dio Stand Up and Shout Cancer Fund, which is a charity co-founded by Dio’s widow, Wendy. The organization’s goal is to support cancer research and raising awareness about the disease. Wendy Dio also produced the album.
