Morrissey Announce North American Tour

Morrissey will hit the road this spring on a North American tour

Last year, Morrissey had every intention of touring North and South America, but had to cancel dozens of shows due to various illnesses, including a bleeding ulcer and Barrett’s esophagus. Now, Morrissey is better and back to hit the road once again.

Morrissey has announced a 2014 tour that will keep the former Smiths frontman busy from a May 7 show in San Jose, Calif., through a June 21 gig at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y. Check out the full 25-date roster below.

For at last two of the shows, openers will include popular Welch singer Tom Jones (Los Angeles opener) and English rock performer Cliff Richard (Brooklyn, N.Y.). Kristeen Young will also open for those Los Angeles and Brooklyn shows, with support for the rest of the tour to be announced soon.

In other Morrissey news, the singer is currently working on a new album that’s expected to arrive in the second half of 2014. The upcoming release will arrive on Harvest Records, an imprint of Capitol Music Group.
