‘Super Duper Alice Cooper’ will premiere April 17 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City

Alice Cooper’s new documentary, “Super Duper Alice Cooper,” finally has a premiere date: April 17 at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. The movie, which is being billed as a “doc opera,” will offer a mix of historical photos and footage, animation, interviews and theatrical elements, making this the kind of dramatic flick one would expect from the Coop.

Alice Cooper fans that can’t make the premiere will be able to catch the tormented heroine on the screen later this spring. The film will be hitting over 250 movie theaters across North America for special screenings on April 30 and May 1, with additional cinemas slated to screen the documentary on select dates throughout May. A pre-recorded Q&A segment called “Keep Calm & Just Ask Alice” will also be shown at each screening, featuring a Q&A with Cooper.

“Super Duper Alice Cooper” is directed and written by Reginald Harkema, Scot McFadyen and Sam Dunn. The documentary tells the story of the man behind the makeup, Vincent Furnier, from his early days as the son of a preacher to his blood-soaked metal career.
