Muse, Queens of the Stone Age Members Contributing to Kimbra’s New Album
Australia’s Kimbra is working with a long list of collaborators on her upcoming album
Electropop singer Kimbra has some musical heavy-hitters making appearances on her upcoming album. According to Australian music website FasterLouder, Muse singer Matt Bellamy is involved with the release, contributing a guitar part on the Kimbra song, “Good Intent.”
The list of collaborators doesn’t stop at Muse. Kimbra’s new album will also feature performances from members of Queens of the Stone Age, the Mars Volta, Daniel Johns, formerly of Silverchair, and John Legend.
Kimbra is known as the female voice on Gotye’s hit “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The upcoming, as-yet-untitled sophomore album will be her follow-up to 2011’s “Vows.”
Switching gears back to Muse, Bellamy recently spoke with Australian’s Triple J about where the band is with new music, and he says they’re working on it. “I’ve written some good tracks, (but) we haven’t had a chance to rehearse them out yet,” he said. “We’ll take a break (this) year for a little few months, and then we’ll get in the studio.” He also added that “if all goes very well, the new album could well be early 2015 or late 2015,” with a new single out around Christmas of 2014.
