Antemasque Announce 2014 Tour Dates
Antemasque will go on tour this summer in support of their self-titled debut album
Antemasque, the new supergroup featuring Mars Volta former members Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler-Zaval, have announced a handful of 2014 summer tour dates. The upcoming trek will kick off Aug. 2 at the White Rabbit in San Antonio and travel through cities in Texas, Arizona and California before wrapping up Aug. 16 at Summer Sonic in Tokyo, Japan.
The tour will come on the heels of Antemasque’s self-titled debut album, which will arrive on July 15 via the band’s own Nadie Sound label.
The band’s official lineup includes Rodríguez-López, Bixler-Zavala and drummer Dave Elitch. Red Hot Chili Peppers bass player Flea performed on some of the band’s early tracks, but he’s not a full-fledged Antemasque member. No word as to whether Flea will join the group on this tour, but considering the Red Hot Chili Peppers have been busy in the studio working on their follow-up to 2011’s “I’m With You,” the chances are slim.
Antemasque’s debut single, “4AM,” is up on the band’s YouTube page.
