Jack White Releasing New Dead Weather Music, White Stripes Live Album
Jack White is readying a new vinyl package featuring Dead Weather and White Stripes tunes
Jack White recently unleashed his latest solo album, “Lazeretto,” but that doesn’t mean he’s neglecting his band the Dead Weather. White has announced that two new songs from the Dead Weather will soon arrive as part of a fresh Vault Package from White’s Third Man Records.
The tunes — “Buzzkill(er)” and “It’s Just Too Bad” — will arrive on a 7-inch vinyl single in Vault Package #21, which is available only to those who subscribe to Third Man’s Vault series.
The Dead Weather are also working on a new studio album, set to arrive sometime in 2015. The band features Dean Fertiti of Queens of the Stone Age, Alison Mosshart of the Kills and Jack Lawrence, the latter who is also White’s band mate in the Raconteurs.
Vault Package #21 also features The White Stripes’ “Live Under the Lights of the Rising Sun,” a LP featuring footage for the group’s first overseas trip to Japan in 2000, and a Third Man flag. A press release asks those who pick up the package to submit photos of the flag in “different, unique states of display.” The fan who uploads to best will score test pressings of a collection of the package’s vinyl discs.
Interested parties need to sign up as Third Man Records Vault Platinum subscribers on the label’s website by July 31. Subscriptions run $60 per quarter.
