Texas in July to Release New Album, ‘Bloodwork’
Metal outfit Texas in July will unleash their studio album this fall
Texas in July have been hard at work on a new album, and the Pennsylvania-based Christian metal gents have announced that the release, titled “Bloodwork,” will arrive on Sept. 16. The sophomore album is the band’s first to feature new vocalist JT Cavey, who was a longtime fan of the band before taking over lead vocal duties. Stream the first taste of the new album, a new song called ‘Broken Soul,’ below.
“I think this album shows us at our most extremes,” guitarist Chris Davis said in a statement. “It has some of our heaviest and most aggressive moments to date and also our most melodic and mellow sections as well. It was all about pushing ourselves to extend our boundaries.”
Texas in July hit the studio last January in their hometown of Lancaster, Pa. to work on “Bloodwork,” and conceived the album with producers Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland. The collection brings clean vocals into the Texas in July sound for the first time. Miss May I vocalist Levi Benton makes a guest appearance on the album on the track “The Void.”
