Jack White’s ‘Lazaretto’ Best-Selling Vinyl Since Pearl Jam’s ‘Vitalogy’

Jack White’s sophomore solo LP, ‘Lazaretto,’ is the best-selling vinyl of 2014

Congratulations to Jack White, the king of vinyl records. White’s sophomore solo LP, “Lazaretto,” which dropped June 10 via Third Man Records and Columbia, is now the biggest-selling vinyl LP of 2014. On top of that, “Lazaretto” currently encompasses the largest vinyl sales volume of any year since Pearl Jam’s 1994 release, “Vitalogy,” according to Billboard.

“Lazaretto” has moved more than 62,000 vinyl units, and vinyl LP sales of the album make up around 25% of the album’s total sales. When “Lazaretto” first arrived, the release pushed more than 40,000 vinyl copies in its debut week, making it the highest first-week vinyl sales since SoundScan started recording sales data in 1991.

“Lazaretto” is available as a standard vinyl edition and an Ultra LP, the latter which features some extras such as two vinyl-only hidden tracks beneath the center labels, dual intros (one acoustic and one electric for “Just One Drink”) and a hand-etched hologram.
