Foo Fighters to Unleash New Album, ‘Sonic Highways,’ in November

Foo Fighters’ ‘Sonic Highways’ album will arrive on Nov. 10

The wait for details on Foo Fighters’ upcoming album is finally over. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl last week promises some mega news to be announced today, and it’s here: the grunge group has announced release details for their new studio album, “Sonic Highways.” The album will arrive worldwide on Nov. 10, and the band has the album art and a clip of a new song available via its official website.

“Sonic Highways” was recorded in quite a novel way, with the band traveling to eight different studios in eight different cities, including Chicago, Nashville, New York, Seattle, Washington, D.C., New Orleans, L.A., and Austin. “This album is instantly recognizable as a Foo Fighters record, but there’s something deeper and more musical to it,” Grohl said in a statement. “I think that these cities and these people influenced us to stretch out and explore new territory, without losing our ‘sound.’”

Pre-orders for both the CD and 180-gram vinyl LP are currently being taken via the Foos’ Sonic Highways website. The vinyl album will arrive with nine different cover options, packing in one main cover and eight additional covers to represent each city in which the album was recorded.
