Hard rockers Five Finger Death Punch are raising thousands of dollars to support needy war veterans

Las Vegas-based hard rockers Five Finger Death Punch have been a favorite among the U.S. troops for years, and last week, the guys launched a special crowd-funding campaign to help veterans’ support groups with the goal of reaching $50,000. Well, the fans responded, and the band has raised more than $169,000.

Five Finger Death Punch kicked off its Indiegogo campaign last Monday (Aug. 11) and also premiered their music video for “Wrong Side of Heaven,” which tackles the issue of veteran homelessness. Five Finger Death Punch also premiered the video last week at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.

Funds raised from the Indiegogo campaign will go to veterans suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, homelessness and other issues. The campaign runs through 11:59 p.m. PT on Sept. 25.

In other Five Finger Death Punch news, the gents will kick off a tour with Danish rock band Volbeat on Sept. 16 at the Maverick Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, and continue through an Oct. 24 show at the Joint in Las Vegas. Five Finger Death Punch will also appear at the inaugural Louder than Life festival, set for Oct. 4 and 5 at Champions Park in Louisville, Ky., performing the final night of the festival.
