Duran Duran’s New Album is ‘Everything You Ever Wanted from a Duran Record,’ Says John Taylor
John Taylor says Duran Duran’s new album is coming along swimmingly
Synth pop-rockers Duran Duran are currently working on a new album, which is expected to arrive in the spring of 2015, and according to bass guitarist and co-founder John Taylor, the new record “is like Duran in extremis.”
Speaking in a series of videos on the Fashion Rocks Live website that promote the band’s upcoming 2014 Fashion Rocks concert, in partnership with Mazda, Taylor and the guys of Duran Duran — Simon Le Bon, Nick Rhodes and Roger Taylor – added that the new album will feature former Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante on a track and the Kaiser Chiefs’ Nick Hodgson co-writing one of the songs.
“It’s like everything you ever wanted from a Duran record,” Taylor said. Producers Nile Rodgers, Mark Ronson and Mr. Hudson are involved with the album.
Duran Duran isn’t the only artist set to rock this year’s Fashion Rocks concert, although they’re one of the only rockers. The bill also features KISS, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, Jennifer Hudson, Usher, Miranda Lambert and the Band Perry.
CBS will air Fashion Rocks from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, at 9 p.m. ET on Sept. 9.
