Faith No More Plotting First New Album in 18 Years
Faith No More have announced plans to record a new album for a 2015 release
Faith No More’s last studio album, “Album of the Year,” dropped a whopping 18 years ago. Considering the long wait time, by now, many fans had given up on Faith No More ever getting back together to release new music, but this week, the guys put those fears to rest and announced they will release a new full-length in 2015.
Bass player Bob Gould told Rolling Stone that he and his bandmates “decided: we’re going to get busy in 2015…make an album we’re proud of, kick things up a notch, (and) get out there and perform it.”
The announcement of new music isn’t a complete surprise. This past summer, Faith No More reunited for some select gigs, including a July 4 show in London opening for Black Sabbath and a concert the next day at Open’er Festival in Poland. Last month, the band tweeted out a hint at new music: “The Reunion Tour is over; and 2015 things are going to change.”
Faith No More also have plans to unleash music on vinyl in conjunction with Record Store Day’s annual Black Friday event. On Nov. 28, the band will release a 7-inch single, and the digital single will drop on Dec. 9.
