Black Sabbath to Record Final Album
Ozzy Osbourne says Black Sabbath will complete one final album and tour
Black Sabbath isn’t done just yet. Speaking with the U.K.’s Metal Hammer, Ozzy Osbourne has announced that the legendary metal guys will hit the studio soon to record their twentieth — and final – album. Rick Rubin, who produced the band’s last album “13,” will produce the new set. In addition to the new tunes, Osbourne promised that he and the classic lineup of Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler will hit the road on one final tour as Black Sabbath next year.
“The whole Sabbath experience this time around was great,” Osbourne said. “We all made friends … we all knew that we had a job to do, and we did it. It was a lot of fun. So we’re going to do one more album, and a final tour.”
As for a timeframe, Osbourne hopes the guys can start recording in early 2015, although he doesn’t know if the writing will take place in England of Los Angeles. Iommi has been fighting lymphoma since 2012, so the recording of the album will work around his health treatment.
