Metallica Announce Week-Long Residency on ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’

Metallica will perform from Nov. 17 to 21 on ‘The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson’

Get ready for Metallica week. Taking some cues from Foo Fighters, Metallica have announced they will play a week-long residency on “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson” from Nov. 17 to 21. The full band — including James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and Robert Trujillo — will take the stage each night for a performance, and Ferguson will interview the guys on Nov. 17.

The residency serves two purposes: to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Metallica’s documentary, “Metallica: Some Kind of Monster” and help say good-bye to Ferguson’s period as the host of “The Late Late Show.”

“What better way to celebrate Craig’s awesome tenure at CBS than to come and shake the rafters for a whole week,” Ulrich told Rolling Stone. “Nothing to sell, nothing to promote (except a reissue DVD)…purely hanging at Craig’s personal request. Bring it!”

Ferguson’s final show will air in December. British actor and comedian James Corden will then take over hosting duties for “The Late Late Show.”

Foo Fighters performed a week-long residency last month on “The Late Show with David Letterman.” Dave Grohl and the gents welcomed a long list of guests during their residency, including Heart, Zac Brown, Tony Joe White and Rick Nielsen from Cheap Trick.
