Foo Fighters will hit the road beginning in July 2015 in support of their new album, ‘Sonic Highways’

It’s the news Foo Fighters fans have hoped would break: The Dave Grohl-fronted band is going on tour. The guys are doing it up big, too, with a lengthy trek of North American stadiums, arenas and amphitheaters.

Following the release of their new album, “Sonic Highways,” the Foos have announced a lengthy North American stadium/arena/amphitheater tour for the summer and fall of 2015. The show will have Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett and Pat Smear performing in several historic U.S. stadiums for the first time, including New York’s Citi Field on July 16, Boston’s Fenway Park on July 18 and 19 and Chicago’s Wrigley Field on Aug. 29, the latter which was previously announced and already sold out. Royal Blood will support the Foos for most of the tour dates.

The trek will kick off July 4 at RFK Stadium in Washington D.C. and continue through an Oct. 7 stop at the FedExForum in Memphis, Tenn. Tickets for the tour (excluding Fenway Park) will first go on sale via the “Beat the Bots: Box Office Only Pre-Sale” at 10 a.m. Saturday (Nov. 22).

Online pre-sales for the tour will begin Dec. 1. General sales will kick in Dec. 4 and 5, depending on the venue. For a full list of box office locations and more details on the pre-sale, visit the Foo Fighters’ official website.
