New albums from Foo Fighters and Pink Floyd debut high on the charts
Rock is back when it comes to the Billboard 200 chart. Two major rock ‘n’ roll releases made solid debuted on the chart this week: Foo Fighters’ “Sonic Highways” and Pink Floyd’s “The Endless River.” The Foos came in at No. 2 on the chart, while Pink Floyd landed at No. 3.
Neither acts are newbies to being at the top of the charts. Each of the Foo Fighters’ albums, excluding the group’s self-titled debut, landed inside the Top 10 on the Billboard 200. Foo Fighters’ last album, “Wasting Light,” marked the band’s first time landing at No. 1 on the chart.
Pink Floy’s “The Endless River” is the band’s tenth album to appear inside the Billboard 200 chart’s Top 10. The band’s previous album, 1994’s “The Division Bell,” entered the chart at No. 1. Pink Floyd has announced “The Endless River” will be the band’s final release.
In other news, Foo Fighters recently announced a massive tour in support of “Sonic Highways,” set for next summer and fall.
