Thousand Foot Krutch’s new single is about ‘standing up for what you believe in’

Thousand Foot Krutch released their latest studio album, “OXYGEN:INHALE,” last August, and they did it independently, without label support. Now, the Christian rockers are releasing the next single off “OXYGEN:INHALE” to radio, a tune called “Untraveled Road.”

“‘Untraveled Road’ is about standing up for what you believe in,” Thousand Foot Krutch frontman Trevor McNevan said in a statement. “It’s about not being afraid to take the first step, or be the first voice. It’s about having the courage to be unashamed, and the faith you need to take a step before you can see the ground. The ‘untraveled road’ is symbolism for being at a crossroads, and having to decide which path you’re going to take. Sometimes it takes everything.”

Speaking with Audio Ink, McNevan said the band always goes its own way when writing music: “We feel so blessed to be doing what we love and keep doing it, and we want every record to be something special. We bleed our hearts into our songs. We’ve never really tried to follow radio or that pressure, so it’s always been really honest.”

In other news, Thousand Foot Krutch have a bevy of live dates lined up for 2015, including festivals such as Northern Invasion, Heavenfest and ShipRocked. For a full list of tour dates, visit the band’s official website.

“Untraveled Road” may be streamed via YouTube.
