Frances Bean Cobain and Courtney Love Hug at Kurt Cobain Documentary Premiere
‘Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck’ premiered at Sundance Film Festival last weekend
The first fully-authorized Kurt Cobain documentary, “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck,” premiered last Saturday (Jan. 24) at the prominent Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean Cobain, executive produced the film. The show is being billed as an unprecedented look into the late Nirvana singer’s archives and life, including never-before-heard original solo recordings.
Cobain’s widow Courtney Love once had a tense relationship with her daughter, Frances Bean, but the two were very friendly at the premiere. Love posted a photo on her Instagram account of she and her 22-year-old daughter hugging on the red carpet of the “Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck” premiere. The caption reads, “So proud of you Bean.”
Sundance Film Festival is reportedly the two’s first public appearance together in several years.
Frances Bean is the only child Love and Cobain. Cobain died in 1994.
“Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck” will play on HBO later this year. Along with the documentary, a “Montage of Heck book” will also be released, which will include extended transcripts from the interviews director Brett Morgen conducted for the movie.
