Record Store Day 2015 will bring rock releases from Mastodon, Stone Sour, Robert Plant

As Record Store Day gets closer and closer, artists are slowly starting to announce their 2015 Record Store Day releases. Robert Plant, Mastodon and Stone Sour are among the rockers who have released details on releases that will arrive on Record Store Day, April 18.

Robert Plant will release a 10-inch vinyl EP called “More Roar,” packing live performances recorded during his 2014 tour with his new group, the Sensational Space Shifters. There’s a little Zep on here, though. Side A of the release features live recordings of “Turn It Up” and “Arbaden,” off Plant’s solo album, “Lullaby and…the Ceaseless Roar.” Side B offers a medley that includes another song off “Lullaby,” “Poor Howard,” as well as Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.” “More Roar” will be limited to 10,000 copies.

Stone Sour’s Record Store Day 2015 release will be a covers EP called “Meanwhile in Burbank…” the guys performing songs by Judas Priest, Alice in Chains, Metallica, KISS and Black Sabbath.

Meanwhile, Mastodon will release “Atlanta,” a 12-inch vinyl picture disc on Record Store Day, limited to 3.500 copies. “Atlanta” was previously only available via Adult Swim’s Single Series. The vinyl features artwork by Mastodon’s Brent Hinds.

Record Store Day’s official list of 2015 releases will be revealed March 10.
