Queens of the Stone Age are ‘Taking a Break’

Queens of the Stone Age plan to record new music, but first, they’re taking a break
Fans haven’t heard too much from Queens of the Stone Age as of late, but that shouldn’t be cause for worry. According to bass player Michael Shuman, the guys are simply on “a break,” but do plan to eventually follow-up their last album, 2013’s “…Like Clockwork,” with new music.
“There will be future stuff with Queens, we’re just taking a break since we had a long, long two years of touring,” Shuman told Gigwise. “We’ll take a break to do other stuff.”
Queens of the Stone Age’s original plan was to start recording new music right after the release of “Clockwork,” but switched gears.
“We were eager because we were in a good spot, having fun and the record had done really well,” Shuman said. “But we decided to take a break because we had been going so hard for so long, and we really worked on that record for a long time.”
Shuman added that, “it’s not like we’re sick of each other and don’t want to do it. It’s just better to step back for a second and come back once the world has had a little bit of a break from you.”
Queens of the Stone Age’s next gig is set for this September at Rock in Rio in Brazil.
