Black Sabbath Planning Final Album and Tour, Says Ozzy Osbourne

Black Sabbath are hoping to release one more album and hit the road on a farewell tour in 2016

Ozzy Osbourne has announced that Black Sabbath are planning to release one last studio album and hit the tour circuit on a farewell run next year. According to Billboard, Osbourne spoke about Black Sabbath’s future plans during a recent press conference before taking the stage with his solo band at the Monsters of Rock festival in São Paulo, Brazil.

“We all live in different countries now. Some of them want to work, some of them don’t, I believe,” Osbourne said regarding Sabbath in a video from the press event. “We are going to do another tour together… The plan is that next year (we will) do the final Black Sabbath tour and album…I’m not stopping. My wife spends all my money so I gotta keep (going).”

This is quite different from what fans thought would be the story for Black Sabbath’s end. In March, the folks behind Ozzfest Japan released an official video where Osbourne’s wife, Sharon, stated that Black Sabbath would be headlining the festival, and it would mark the band’s farewell. Just a few weeks later, it was announced that Black Sabbath would not be playing Ozzfest Japan, which runs from Nov. 21 to 22, and that the festival in their place would feature “the festival’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends).”
