Christian metal-core band Texas in July will say farewell this fall

Texas In July have announced their final tour. The Christian metal-core band first got together in 2007, inked with Equal Vision Records in 2010 and have released four studio albums together. Now, they’re ready to say farewell, but not without the proper send off.

Bass player Benjamin Witkowski says this farewell tour has been in the works for a while.

“We have all been patiently waiting the arrival of this announcement,” he said in a statement. “This November/December is going to be an absolute blast, making a trip around North America one last time as TIJ. We are all very excited to spend time with fans/friends from all over during this last tour. Just a few more months til the first gig of the last gigs, see you all there!”

Guitarist Chris Davis added that “having something that has encompassed so much of our lives for so many years come to an end is not easy, but we are very excited to have one last round of wild shows with all of the fans that made this adventure possible for us.”

The band, according to Davis, will be playing songs from every album in the band’s catalogue, including some they haven’t played in years, on the trek.

Witkowski previously spoke with Audio Ink Radio about the band’s faith and how that plays into their music.

“We’re definitely a Christian band,” he said. “We all believe, and we’ve been on Christian tours and have toured with Christian bands. That’s how we started: We decided to set out as a Christian metal band. People have different views on Christianity, and there are different sorts of Christians out there. I know where we are with it, and we’re going to continue to be a Christian band, and we won’t change for anyone.”

Texas In July’s farewell tour dates are below, with a few dates still to be announced. The band’s most recent album, “Bloodwork,” is their first to feature new vocalist, JT Cavey.
