The Who’s 2015 Hyde Park Show to Be Screened in Theaters as Concert Film
‘The Who: Live in Hyde Park’ will screen in theaters in October
The Who turned 50 this year and commemorated the moment with a sold-out concert for London’s Hyde Park in front of 65,000 fans. The show, which was part of The Who Hits 50! Tour, will filmed for a movie that will debut in theaters on Oct. 7.
“The Who: Live in Hyde Park” has the Who playing all the hits, such as “Behind Blue Eyes,” “Who Are You,” “I Can’t Explain,” “My Generation” and “I Can See For Miles,” to name a few. The movie also splices in behind-the-scenes footage and interviews with Who members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, plus friends such as Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin, Iggy Pop, and Johnny Marr of the Smiths.
A trailer for “The Who: Live in Hyde Park,” presented by Eagle Vision, is streaming on YouTube. Screening locations and times will have yet to be posted, but those interested in details can sign up for email alerts via TheWhoFilm.com.
The Who are gearing up for the fall North American leg of their 50th anniversary tour. The tour will set off Sept. 14 in San Diego and close out Dec. 13 in Oakland, California. The full list of tour dates is available via the band’s website.
