Garbage Announce 20th Anniversary Edition of Debut Album

Garbage to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their self-titled debut album this year

Garbage’s self-titled debut album turns 20 years old this year, and to honor the set, the early alternative band will release a 20th Anniversary Edition of the album. The new version will offer a remastered edition of the original album, bonus tracks, remixes and unreleased tracks. As a taste of what’s to come, Garbage have posted a new mix of the song “Subhuman” on YouTube.

The “Garbage” anniversary edition will be released in conjunction with the band’s fall tour, which also celebrates its 20th anniversary. On the trek, Garbage will perform the album from front to pack. The tour will start on Oct. 6 in San Diego.

“This is a very special occasion for all of us in Garbage,” frontwoman Shirley Manson said in a statement. “We are particularly excited about the upcoming tour — the intent of which is pretty much the celebration of a 20 year long affair between us and those who have loved us.”

“Garbage” is likely best known for the chart-topping single “Stupid Girl,” which picked up two Grammy nominations in 1997 for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group.

The 20th anniversary edition of “Garbage” will arrive digitally and on CD on Oct. 2.
