Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood Clarifies Comments on New Album
Are the guys of Radiohead finished with their new album? Don’t count on it
Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood recently spoke with a Russian radio station about the band’s upcoming album, and a few things got lost in translation. For one, reports from the interview were that Radiohead have completed work on their new album and that they would also tour in 2016. Now, Greenwood is clarifying that Radiohead are not finished with their new release, and they don’t have any tour plans lined up for 2016.
“Nice mistranslation going on,” Greenwood said on Twitter. “What I actually said: lots has been recorded, and we’re about to go through it all to see if it’s any good. And we HOPE to tour next year: no plans confirmed yet. Sorry for the over enthusiastic translator.”
Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke also weighed in on the rumor, Tweeting out, “No IT ain’t finished.” That said, don’t believe the rumors, because Radiohead are definitely not ready to release their new tunes.
Radiohead’s upcoming album will mark the alternative band’s follow-up to 2011’s “The King of Limbs.”
