Filter Announce New Album, ‘Crazy Eyes’

Filter’s seventh studio album will arrive this spring

Richard Patrick and the guys of Filter are back and ready to unleash their first studio album in three years. The release, “Crazy Eyes,” will arrive on April 8. It’s the group’s seventh studio album. They rose to fame in the ’90s with hit singles such as “Take a Picture” and “Hey Man, Nice Shot.”

The album’s lead single, “Take Me to Heaven,” is currently streaming via Soundcloud.

“Filter is the mind,” Patrick said in a statement. “It’s your interpretation or my interpretation. Our thing is to look at people’s unexplainable behavior and assess it, using sound. It’s a way to approximate the insanity of the human condition.”

“The reason this record is so…heavy and strange is it’s exactly the opposite of what’s popular,” Patrick added. “It’s not pretty. It’s not cute. It’s real.”

In other Filter news, the band has booked a handful of U.S. festivals this year, including Welcome to Rockville and Carolina Rebellion festivals.
