The annual Farm Aid festival returns in September

The 2016 Farm Aid festival is set for Sept. 17 at the Jiffy Lube Live amphitheater in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Bristow, Virginia. Dave Matthews, who is a Farm Aid board member, will appear at the event with Tim Reynolds, and the lineup will also include Alabama Shakes, Willie Nelson, John Mellencamp and Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats.

“Folks are educating themselves about where and how food is grown — they’re hungry for the truth,” said Nelson, who in addition to performing is also the Farm Aid president and a co-founder. “Family farmers bring us good food, protect our soil and water, and strengthen our country. The Farm Aid concert is a day for us to honor that truth and keep working for family farmers.”

Aside from the live music, Farm Aid will also offer family farm-produced local and organic foods and the chance for attendees to try a handful of agricultural activities.

Tickets for Farm Aid 2016 will be available to the general public starting 10 a.m. Monday (June 27) via LiveNation.com, the Jiffy Lube Live box office and by calling 800-745-3000.
