Trent Reznor Posts New Music from ‘Before the Flood’ Documentary
Nine Inch Nails singer Trent Reznor is working on the music for a documentary about climate change
Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor has posted a clip of a track called “A Minute to Breathe,” which he wrote Atticus Ross for the documentary “Before the Flood.” A minute-long teaser of the dark, atmospheric track is streaming now at Nine Inch Nails’ Facebook page.
If you’re a diehard Nine Inch Nails fan, don’t get too expected, as Reznor has already pointed out in the caption for the video clip that “A Minute to Breathe” is “not new Nine Inch Nails.” Towards the end of the year last year, Reznor announced that Nine Inch Nails would unleash new music in 2016, but that obviously hasn’t happened yet. Reznor addresses that issue is week in an Instagram comment feed, telling fans that “2016 is not over yet.” That sounds like a sort-of promise to me.
The Fisher Steven-directed documentary “Before the Flood” features actor Leonardo DiCaprio in an effort to raise awareness about climate change. “Before the Flood” will air on the National Geographic Channel staring Oct. 30. The soundtrack for the documentary will drop later this month. Reznor and Ross wrote the soundtrack with support from Argentine composer Gustavo Santaolalla and Scottish rock group Mogwai.
Next up, Reznor and Ross will once again combine forces to score the movie “Patriots Day,” which chronicles the events surrounding the 2013 Boston Marathon bombing.
