Art of Anarchy Releases ‘The Madness’
Band featuring Disturbed, Guns N’ Roses members releases new song
Art of Anarchy has released a new song, “The Madness,” which marks their first tune with new singer, Scott Stapp formerly of Creed. The song and video are streaming now via Billboard. The band also features former Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal and Disturbed bass player John Moyer.
“Guitar-wise, (‘The Madness’) called for a theme that would feel a bit like a voice from a dark place, like a devil on your shoulder that keeps repeating itself,” Thal told Billboard. “The lyrics describe personal challenges Scott overcame, giving a glimpse through his eyes as he describes the visuals and duality pulling you between ‘the madness,’ or the other side.”
Art of Anarchy was originally slated to have former Stone Temple Pilots singer Scott Weiland as their frontman, but after making that announcement, Weiland released a statement saying he wasn’t an official members of the band. Weiland passed away in late 2015.
Stapp spent years with Creed and doing a solo project but suffered a public meltdown in November of 2014. He is now sober and ready to return to the road.
“The Madness” will arrive on Art of Anarchy’s upcoming sophomore album, which is slated to arrive sometime next spring. The group is schedule to perform for the first time Oct. 27 in New York City.
