Audioslave to Reunite for First Show in More Than a Decade

Audioslave will perform together for the first time in more than 10 years

Welcome back, Audioslave. The Chris Cornell-fronted supergroup hasn’t played live in more than a decade, but they’ll come together Friday (Jan. 20) to play a show at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles at the Anti-Inaugural Ball. The show will protest soon-to-be President Donald Trump’s inauguration. Other acts set to play the Anti-Inaugural Ball include Prophets of Rage, Vic Mensa, Jackson Browne, Jack Black and the Los Angeles Freedom Choir.

Rumors of an Audioslave reunion have been going strong for about a year, since Cornell has publicly expressed interest in revisiting his days with the Rage Against the Machine group.

Guitarist Tom Morello recently spoke with Music Radar about the possibility of an Audioslave reunion, saying, “I love Chris (Cornell) and I love what we did together. That door has certainly never closed in any way, but right now, it’s looking like we’re pretty busy. We’re in the middle of a North American tour, I’m also working on a record of my own and the other guys have things going on, too. But whatever happens in the future, Chris is one of the greatest singers of all time, and there’s no way I couldn’t be proud of the shows and music we played together.”

Cornell’s other band, Soundgarden, has confirmed a handful of U.S. festival dates this year. Time will tell is Audioslave will hit the road in 2017, as well.
