All That Remains Go Heavy on New Album, ‘Madness’
All That Remains are back with a new album and busy tour roster for 2017
Massachusetts metal outfit All That Remains has unleashed details on their next studio album. The set, which will mark their eighth, is named “Madness” and will arrive April 28. The upcoming release will mark the band’s follow-up to 2015’s “The Order of Things,” which hit No. 3 on the Billboard U.S. Hard Rock Albums chart and No. 5 on their Top Rock Albums chart.
“Our goal has always been to write songs that we like,” lead vocalist Phil Labonte said of “Madness” in a statement.
“All That Remains has seen a lot of criticism about the songs that we’ve written and what people think we’re supposed to do,” he added. “We started as a very underground death metal kind of band, we’ve since moved away from that and have never apologized for it. The music we’ve written has been reflective of that and I think the lyrics, the ideas, have always been reflective of that as well.”
The album – which was produced by Grammy-winning producer Howard Benson, who has worked with the likes of Halestorm, Papa Roach and Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell – already boasts two singles in the release’s title track and “Safe House.” In other news, All That Remains will be on tour this spring and summer to play “Madness” live with a handful of headlining gigs and festival dates.
