Seether frontman Shaun Morgan is stoked to have Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery on tour

Shaun Morgan and the guys of Seether are currently on a North American run, and this time around, they’ve got a familiar guitar player in their lineup: Sevendust guitarist Clint Lowery. For Morgan, it’s an honor and very fitting to have Lowery on this tour, which supports Seether’s latest release, “Poison the Parish.”

“I’m like a kid!” Morgan told Audio Ink Radio about hitting the road with Lowery. “I’ve loved Sevendust for years and years and years, and we’ve been friends with them. I think we met them in 2002 at a show in Dayton, Ohio. Clint has been a really good friend of ours since we did a tour with Dark New Day in 2005, and that’s when we really bonded. That was 12 years ago, which is a sad state! (Laughs) He’s a great guy, great player, great singer and fun guy to watch play. He brings a lot.”

Morgan added, “We had Bryan Wickmann, and he was our guitar tech for a couple years, and then we brought him in the band for a couple years. He decided to leave the business because he had a child, which I think is great for him. I’m really excited to have Clint. I think he’s just as excited to be out with us.”

This North American run sees Seether doing a mix of headlining shows and festival dates. The band’s stop in Grand Rapids on Monday (May 22) featured songs spanning their seven-album catalog– “Fine Again,” “Broken,” “Country Song” and “Let You Down,” to name a handful. I first saw Seether in concert in the early 2000s when they were just breaking out, and the band’s live show is just as solid as it was at those early gigs.

Watching the band perform, it’s obvious they’re loving this particular run.

“We’re just in a really great place,” Morgan said. “For the first time in a long time, it feels like everything has sort of aligned to be a really great tour.”
