Stone Sour, Alter Bridge and Skillet will perform at the 2017 Rockfest in Jackson, Michigan

Summer concert season is almost here, and the Jackson County Fair in Jackson, Michigan, has unveiled its rock lineup for 2017.

Stone Sour, Alter Bridge and Skillet will headline the Jackson County Fair’s Rockfest on Monday, August 7, bringing a triple bill of rock to the event. All of the bands are touring behind either upcoming or recently released studio albums.

Stone Sour, fronted by Corey Taylor of Slipknot, are touring this summer to promote their new album, “Hydrograd,” which will drop June 30. The album already features a hit rock single in “Fabuless,” a hard-hitting rock track that shows the band’s heavier, guitar-heavy side. Stone Sour rose to mainstream in the mid-2000s with “Come What(ever) May,” which featured the successful ballad “Through the Glass.”.

Alter Bridge are touring to support their latest album, “The Last Hero.” The Myles Kennedy-fronted band are known for towering melodic rock numbers such as “Isolation,” “Show Me a Leader,” “Open Your Eyes” and “Ghost of Days Gone By.”

Meanwhile, Skillet is a major name in the Christian rock arena and beyond. They’ve sold more than 11 million units worldwide. The band’s latest album is 2016’s “Unleashed.” Frontman John Cooper recently told Audio Ink Radio that he hopes the band’s music spreads “my message that no matter who you are or where you come from and how useless you may feel, God is with you and that God does love you. That’s something I’m very passionate about, and I do hope people feel that.”

Tickets for the Jackson County Fair go on sale at 9 a.m. EST on Saturday (May 20) via the Jackson County Fair Box Office, etix.com or (800) 517-3849 or (517) 788-4405.
