New Foo Fighters Record to Feature Boyz II Men’s Shawn Stockman
Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men appears on Foo Fighters’ ‘Concrete and Gold’
Dave Grohl is known for working with a wide range of guests, and he just revealed an interesting one for Foo Fighters’ upcoming record. Shawn Stockman of the R&B group Boyz II Men appears on “Concrete and Gold.”
Grohl talked about the chance collaboration in a new interview with BBC Music 6. When asked about the “weirdest moment” of recording the new set, Grohl replied, “The guy from Boyz II Men walking through the parking lot and me saying, ‘Oh dude, will you sing on our record?'”
“And he does,” Grohl added. “On the heaviest song on the entire record.”
Grohl has been throwing out hints that some famous names in the music world helped contribute to “Concrete and Gold.” He previously stated that they have “probably the biggest pop star in the world,” singing on one of the record’s “heaviest songs.” Is Stockman that musician? Time will tell.
Foo Fighters previously announced that “Concrete and Gold” will bring guest appearances from the Dead Weather and the Kills singer Alison Mosshart. The latter sings on the song “La Dee Da.”
“Concrete and Gold” will arrive on Sept. 15. Foo Fighters will do an extensive North American tour in support of the record this year.
